Broadway is renowned for its art and antique
galleries, specialist shops, fine restaurants and tea-rooms. The
village is often referred to as 'The Show Village of England' and the
'Jewel of the Cotswolds'. The village grew along the 'broad way',
its wide grass-fringed High Street lined with red chestnut trees and
honey-coloured Cotswold limestone buildings many dating back to the 16th
Century.
Broadway serves as a natural base from which
to explore The Cotswolds (www.cotswoldsaonb.org.uk) or see
the horse racing during Cheltenham Gold Cup week and National Hunt
Festival. Local attractions include:
over 50 acres
of lavender (www.snowshill-lavender.co.uk)
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway
at Toddington, where steam trains run to and from Toddington to
Cheltenham (www.gwsr.com)
The nearby villages of Chipping Campden,
Stanton, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford
Walking The Cotswold Way National Trail
and the new
Circular Walks
which meander through some of England's most scenic countryside
from Bath to Chipping Campden and only a few metres from our
